Welcome...

No evil is there similar to anger,
No austerity to be compared with patience.
Steep yourself, therefore, in patience-
In all ways, urgently, with zeal.

Factors of Suicide

Rutgers Student - CNN

*shaking my head*  I can't get this outta my head.  There are too many damn emotions with this situation.  Suicide, privacy (or lack thereof), social networking and the possibility of pre-existing emotional problems.

Let's begin with Lack of Privacy.  Yep.  With capitals and all.  So your dorm mate tapes you making out with someone.  With someone of the same sex no doubt.  Via webcam.  He thinks it's funny.  Records it for all the world to see.  Because college life is one big joke.  Doesn't even stop to think how this just might affect the person being taped.

Not. Once.

No one knows he had homosexual tendencies.  That will change.  Soon.  If they didn't see the broadcast, they will soon see.  Social networking can be used for the evils.  This is a classic case.  She knows him, he knows this other guy through a brother's friend's mother and so on.

It's all too much.  What does he do now?  He is completely humiliated.  Well, this kid jumped off a bridge.  Literally.  He updated his social network and jumped.

What.  The.  Hell.

Okay, first, suicide is not a joke.

I believe that suicidal people truly feel that there are no other options.  Nothing can stop whatever they are feeling.  Nothing can stop the pain.  Nothing can ever help the problem.  But let me tell you this, there are symptoms, if you want, that lead up to this point in someone's life that they come to a head.  There is no way out and you can only see black.  I bet you that this kid only saw black.  He was humiliated.  He was destroyed, if you will.  His roommate saw to that.  I think his roommate was the trigger finger to the gun.

However, I do not think that this was all that was happening in this kids life.  There usually isn't just one instance that pushes someone over the edge.  This was just the topping on the cake.  The final factor.

I am not condoning suicide in the least bit.  I am presenting the case for it.  I can see both sides of suicide.  I had thoughts when I was a teen and I also have lost someone I loved dearly to it.  Both sides suck.

Personally, the roommate should be ashamed of himself for putting this kid on the edge like this.  I am not saying that he murdered him, but as I said before, he surely helped.
